GIN Maritime Operations

GIN Maritime Operations was established in 2024 with the aim of strengthening the activities of the Genova Industrie Navali Group, to which it belongs, by integrating its infrastructure and services with maritime and logistics operations in the shipbuilding and industrial plant engineering sectors.

The first and most significant project was the acquisition of the semi-submersible barge Arcalupa, built in 2020 at the Cimolai facilities. Arcalupa boasts exceptional dimensions, approximately 60% larger than industry standards: it weighs between 3,800 and 4,200 tons with the buoyancy towers installed, and measures 127.2 meters in length, 31.5 meters in width, and 6.5 meters in height. These characteristics make it a highly versatile and multifunctional asset.

Thanks to the installation of buoyancy towers, Arcalupa can submerge its deck to a depth of 6.5 meters, reaching a maximum draft of 13 meters.

These features, combined with its large storage area, allow the barge to be used both as a transport or floating dock and as a launch platform for structures weighing up to 9,800 tons. This unique capability significantly expands its range of applications and marks a strategic step forward for the Group, opening up new opportunities in the maritime-industrial operations sector and in engineering applied to logistics.
