At Dry-Dock 10 in Marseille, during the month of October, Chantier Naval de Marseille (CNM), part of Genova Industrie Navali Group, successfully completed a major refit project on Carnival Mardi Gras, the first LNG-powered (Liquefied Natural Gas) vessel ever welcomed by the French shipyard. This achievement marks a significant milestone, highlighting CNM’s growth and capability to work on new-generation vessels.

From September 28 to October 14, Carnival Mardi Gras underwent an extensive refit program at CNM’s Dock 10 in Marseille. During the yard period, the shipyard provided expertise and support on the LNG system, assisting Carnival Cruise Line during the cooling-down operation prior to the LNG bunkering in the port of Marseille.

Another key milestone achieved during the drydock was the replacement of the Bolt track, ensuring that Mardi Gras returned to service with all attractions fully operational. In addition, CNM carried out several standard maintenance and refit activities, further optimizing the vessel’s condition and performance ahead of her return to service.

At the end of the works, Carnival Mardi Gras successfully carried out an LNG bunkering operation in Marseille, ready to set sail again in optimal conditions.

This project reflects our commitment to precision, innovation, and efficiency, ensuring the vessel is fully optimized for her upcoming voyages. We extend our sincere thanks to our outstanding teams and partners for their dedication, expertise, and professionalism demonstrated at every stage of this important project.
